Ambassador Dr. Osita Offor “De Ultimate Commander” and the Ikenga Gburugburu of Ohafia and Nneato Ancient Kingdoms, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of his cousin sister, Ms Ogoma Lilian Kelechukwu who worked with the Federal Ministry of Water Resources Abuja, describing her passing as a painful loss to the family and everyone whose lives she touched.
The President of the United Abia Artistes and Patriots (UAAP) Forum, in an emotional tribute released ahead of her burial, scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Ubahu Nneato, Umunneochi L.G.A, said the late Ogoma was an exceptional personality whose kindness, loyalty and commitment to family stood her out.
According to Ambassador Offor, the deceased was more than a cousin to him, noting that she remained one of the most dependable members of the family throughout her lifetime.
He lamented that death took away a woman who was still greatly needed by her family and community, considering the values she had built and the positive impact she made on the lives of many people she mentored.
“Very sad to say the least that such an amazing, kind-hearted soul and wonderful personality like Ogoma is no more in our midst. I wished that this unchangeable event had skipped her at this point when she was needed most among us because of the values she created for herself and for the growth of those she chose to mentor within our family and beyond,” he said.
Reflecting on their close relationship, Ambassador Offor recalled how the late Ogoma played a significant role in the upbringing of his children, serving as their godmother and providing unwavering support to his household.
He noted that during periods when his demanding public engagements kept him away from home, Ogoma consistently stepped in to offer care, stability and motherly affection to members of his family.
“Considering my closeness with her and how she impacted the lives of my children, whom she stood for as their godmother, and remembering how she helped unite my home during my uncontrollable busy schedules that often kept me away from my immediate and extended family, Ogoma stood firmly with an unconditionally supportive spirit and the love of a mother towards everyone in my household,” he stated.
The renowned philanthropist and Undisputed Heavyweight Wrestling Champion, admitted that the painful loss has left him heartbroken and struggling to come to terms with the reality of her departure.
With visible emotion, he described the late Ogoma as the only female cousin who consistently stood by him through life’s challenges, offering loyalty, friendship and unwavering support.
“For the reasons stated above and many more, I am tempted to ask God questions. With a heavy heart and broken spirit, I write about the only person among my female cousins who watched my back throughout her lifetime. It is very difficult to say goodbye to my younger cousin sister and a friend for life,” he added.
Family members, friends, associates and well-wishers are expected to gather on Saturday June 27, 2026, at her family house in Ubahu Nneato in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State, for her burial and to pay their final respects to the late Ms. Lilian Ogoma Kelechukwu, whose life has been widely described as one marked by compassion, sacrifice and selfless service to others.
Her passing has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her legacy of love, mentorship and unwavering devotion to family is expected to endure for generations.
